We are pleased to announce that BusSim Business Simulations will be an
Exhibitor at the 2008 Annual POMS Conference in La Jolla, CA on May 9 -12.
If you are attending the conference please stop by our exhibit and see our
demonstrations. We will be featuring 3 BusSim products and several
Mini-Sims that you may find useful in your teaching.
Featured Simulations include:
BusSim Operations -- a
manufacturing based simulation that focuses on the operations function.
BusSim Manufacturing -- a
manufacturing based simulation that teaches broader management responsibilities.
(Great for practicing technical staff)
BusSim Transportation -- a service
based trucking industry simulation.
These simulations have all been used by the author in his Operations
Management undergraduate course. They provide excellent assessment of
student learning and all programs are downloadable free for your evaluation on
this website.
Operations related
Mini Sims:
Cost-Volume-Profit Analysis Sim -- This simulation teaches basic
Cost-Volume-Profit relationships through
the use of graphic displays that change as the decision variables are
changed. The Normal Distribution is
used to convert varying demand values to probabilities.
Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
Tool -- This tool teaches basic
MRP relationships through
the use of graphic displays and the ability to change part data. The
Parts Explosion Report is
used to display all part requirements to achieve the Master Schedule. A single product (Table) with a fixed
Bill of Materials is used in this
example.
Critical Path Method (CPM)
Tool -- This tool
teaches basic
Critical Path relationships through
the use of graphic displays and the ability to change time and cost data.
A single network with fixed paths is used in this
example. The Crash Sequence Report is
used to display how the network could be reduced one step at a time.
