A Business Simulation is a technique for developing, testing, and
evaluating business strategies in a virtual environment.
The BusSim
Series was developed to provide an integrated set of business
simulations that could be used for training business students in several areas
of business decision making. Each simulation comes with a Case
that provides the business environment. These cases follow a single
company through 20 years of operation. By providing similar simulation
mechanics and maintaining a familiar business environment, this series is
particularly well suited at integrating the business curriculum.
The
ultimate goal of this series is to provide a means for assessing student
learning through the business curriculum. (See the
BusSim webpage for further information)
BackPacks are an identifiable product that lends itself to a complimentary
product line.
How much do the BusSim
Modules cost?
The BusSim Modules sell
for $20-$40 per team depending on the module. It is intended that a
student team
will use a module in a Business class for one term.
When will the BusSim Modules
be available?
All Modules are currently available.
Can the BusSim Modules be
customized for my purpose?
The BusSim Modules can be
customized for special cases, however the lead time is longer and there may be
an extra charge depending on the extent of the modifications.
What is the difference between the Student and Stand Alone
Editions?
The Student Editions are designed to be used in a classroom environment
where an instructor monitors play and users compete against each other.
Registered instructors must adopt this edition before play can begin.
The Stand Alone Editions use random competitors generated by the
computer. A single user may play these editions without an
instructor. They provide the opportunity to practice your business
decision making skills without having other live competitors. All Stand
Alone Editions have three levels of difficulty and come with industry choices
that influence computer-competitor play.
Versions 4.0 and above require Microsoft .NET
Framework Version 1.1 or higher. This is already loaded on most Microsoft Operating
Systems. If your computer doesn't have this software, the install program
should take you to Microsoft.com/downloads to add
it to your computer. The simulations will not work without this
software.
